Dear Friends of Levant Foresights,
2026 just finished rolling out, just a magic carpet. My Singapore connection, MN, just texted me, after 6 years of limited contacts. The time was 08 and 13 where I live and 15-13 where she and her family are based. She was en route to her fitness after dropping Elisa off at a trampoline site. I rang her to ascertain that we are all healthy and that we care about each other & about the world beyond us. We ticked most key boxes in 9 minutes, including her sister' real estate dealings from Spain to Thailand and Greece. Then, MN was off the chases and I read details of what happened earlier in Minnesota.
We are witnessing quite a dramatic time in modern history. USA just stroke Syria again and Iran is surely next. Noone remembers what happened in Caracas last week, as Havana and Bogota shiver each time a blade whistles longer than birds' voice. Bulgarians are involved in peacemaking, eg Nikolay Mladenov, a career diplomat and former Bulgarian politician, is set to become director of the Gaza Strip Board of Peace. But we are a tiny nation and can't stretch from Greenland to Shanghai with voices of reason. So we shall write until time is right for our second conference on conflict, peace and development: it has been exactly 2 years after the first.
Meanwhile, at a Dianabad gym in Sofia, Karlos Nasar is about to extend our former dominance of weight lifting. A Paris/born Bulgarian with roots from the village "Red Coast" , he is our top Olympian, three-time World and three-time European champion and one of the youngest weightlifting world record holders ever. He will come to the conference. Stay tuned.
